Cheryan Topsy R Sangma, in collaboration with the Government of Meghalaya, NABARD, and MRB, is revolutionizing banking in unbanked areas. Using interoperable micro-ATMs, the project expands doorstep banking, especially in remote regions, with government support of Rs 2,000 for challenging terrains. Operating in three villages, Cheryan facilitated 700 digital transactions totaling Rs 92.55 lakhs, earning a commission of Rs 0.32 lakhs in March, contributing to her monthly income of Rs 2,034. This initiative involves over 1000 business correspondents to provide essential banking services directly to residents' doorsteps, aiming to transform Meghalaya.
